The material content was good but the course requires application. A course relies heavily in math which is best learned thru visual examples. The instructor lacked the importance of showing how the work should be completed.

The only annoying thing was out of AMA control. One of the students in our small class insisted on saying correct after just about every sentence the instructor uttered. She also talked over him by providing her own answer to the questions when he was trying to solve through group work with us.

I think the class I attended could have been done in 2 days not sure why it's done in 3 days. I felt instructor made it longer that it really should have been

Not consistent with previous AMA classes that I have taken - this class should really be called introduction ro cost manufacturing accounting for accountants only. This class might be a decent one 25 years ago - both the materials and the instructor would have been ideal 25 years ago. The class description and outline looked for promising but u...

I would like to have a more hands on step by step on the work problems. Also, a view on how cost accounting would apply within project management when reconciling jobs other than just coding aspect of cost accounting.I do remember seeing this process years ago in college.

Really enjoyed the discussion and hands-on learning. However, I felt that the instructor stopped having us do individual problem solving or (working in tables to solve) which would have provided us with a better opportunity to put into practice our learning. Instead he simply went directly to the printed answer and reviewed it. I believe this w...

Next time it will be good to based cost accounting examples based on several industry. The course was too focused on manufacturing industries while participants came from differents area like multilateral development banks.

Peter is extremely knowledgeable about the subject matter and kept us on track, which was most appreciated. For a 3 day seminar, he went just the right pace to not be too slow or too overwhelming on a daily basis. He was able to bring his past work experiences into the discussion while using the attendees current job responsibilities to demonst...

The instructor's teaching style was not good. He read the training book to us and told us to highlight this and write down that. It was the worst trainer I have had in a very long time.

The instructor, while knowledgeable, clearly had not prepared/reviewed for our class. There were numerous instances in which she was incorrect, and she was unaware that our class book contained numerous errors.

I was disappointed with the seminar, largely because it was no different than a very basic overview of a cost accounting class, which was not the impression I got from the description on the website. In a professional environment, we have systems to do calculations and it would have been more helpful to troubleshoot issues and complete root cau...

We had a student in our class that made the learning environment very difficult but it still went well.

The course description did not explain that this was a very small group. We were expecting networking opportunities and best practice sharing, which was limited considering 3 of the 4 attendees were from my own company. The instructor spent most of his time reading from the book, and there were almost no real life examples to support the text. ...

Overall I was disappointed. I thought the class would be larger and there would be more discussion and feedback between different companies. We mainly read from the book and spent a lot of time calculating entries instead of talking about concepts.
