Course description

Emotional Intelligence

Emotional intelligence is the "other kind of smart.” It affects how we manage behavior, navigate social interactions, and make personal decisions to achieve positive results. These skills also shape how an individual responds, communicates, interacts and works with other people. Self-improvement in the Emotional Intelligence arena will ultimately improve your connections with others and enhance your leadership abilities.

What Emotional Intelligence IS:

  • How leaders handle themselves and their relationships – “the thing” that makes some people succeed over others
  • A flexible set of skills that can be studied upon and improved
  • The ability to use emotional information to guide thinking and behavior

What Emotional Intelligence IS NOT:

  • Education, knowledge or experience, or intellectual growth
  • Agreeableness, optimism, happiness, calmness or motivation
  • Charisma or social strength

LEARNING OUTCOMES

  • Understand what Emotional Intelligence is and why--when practiced consciously--it can improve relationships, personal development, and leadership success
  • Understand the four domains to Emotional Intelligence: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management
  • Build a Personal Profile of Strengths
  • Improve Individual Emotional Intelligence

Who should attend?

The Emotional Intelligence program is ideal for leaders, managers, and individuals who want to improve their performance and success by increasing their emotion management skills and self-understanding.

Excellent. Loved how Tia engaged the entire group. I appreciated learning about the social and self aspects. The action card will be a great tool to help me be aware. The book will be great too!
