A Certified Management Accountant (CMA) focuses on identifying business growth strategies based on their comprehensive financial analyses. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) focuses on taxation, auditing, and the day-to-day accounting activities. Some of the most common CMA tasks include analyzing and deciphering data to initiate financial improvement in businesses. CMAs identify the strategy behind business decisions based on their financial analysis.
To be eligible for the CMA certification exam you must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College/University and 2 years of professional experience in management accounting or financial management.

After completing both CMA part I & part II, you will be able to:

- Demonstrate strong professional ethics
Participants must pass both the CMA Part I and CMA Part II exams to earn the designation.
According to the IMA, candidates are required to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university and two years of full-time work in a management accounting role to qualify for CMA certification. However, unlike other accounting certifications, your degree does NOT have to be in finance or accounting. They are also required to be active members of the association and pass a two-part exam.
