Course description
The JMU Professional Conflict Mediation Skills Certification provides professionals an opportunity to learn the best practices used by mediation experts to confidently and effectively facilitate conversations that allow others to resolve conflict. Participants experience the exact training given to professional mediators, and receive additional personalized leadership development provided by an expert coach and thorough self-assessment tools.
Training content
This month-long certificate has three components:
Self-Assessment of Conflict Style- Take a scientifically valid and reliable self-assessment and discover how your communication tendencies may change when faced with conflict.
In-Person Mediation Skills Training- Participate in an 2.5 day interactive, applied mediation skills training that is certified by the Office of the Secretary of the Supreme Court of Virginia.
Applied Coaching & Reflection- Get one-on-one time with a mediation expert to interpret, reflect, and plan how to apply these skills to both professional and personal situations.
Course delivery details
All course content will be available through an online learning system.
Sessions take place during weekdays between 8:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
