Description
A successful organisation is one that has the ability to manage its resources in an effective manner. Not only this, learners will look at the importance of providing a product or service, which will exceed the expectations of its customers. Resources within a business include equipment, materials, facilities, and the most essential employees.
Organisations rely on the skills, experience and also expertise of all its staff, this includes staff from the boardroom to the shop floor. Managers are responsible for successful daily management of staff. The Human Resources (HR) Department is required to develop, support and also dispense with these resources regarding the needs of the company. The business needs to satisfy the statutory requirements.
The structure of daily tasks that are carried out by the HR department, will be dependent on the size and the structure of the specific company. It is suggested that in larger companies there is often a specific department who will perform the necessary human resource tasks and activities. Whereas in smaller businesses, such tasks will may be carried out by an individual. The responsibilities of the HR department will differ between companies. For example the payroll function whereas in other companies it is the Accounts Departments responsibility.
Our Human Resources Diploma will investigate the type of work and tasks that are usually carried out by the Human Resources Department. Students will develop and improve their knowledge and skills needed to work as Human Resources Personnel. You will find this a demanding but highly rewarding role.
The Human Resources Diploma covers six modules. All of which are relevant to a specific area that is vital to the work of HR employees. Modules include:
- Recruitment, Selection and Induction of Staff
- Producing and Maintaining Personnel Records
- Staff Management and Relationships
- Staff Support, Training and Development
- Disciplinaries, Grievances and Tribunals
- Employment Terminations
To successfully complete the diploma, you will be required to complete all six of these modules. The first module will cover recruitment, selection and induction of staff. It will concentrate on managing the acquisition of employees. This is a fundamental role of any Human Resources department in supporting the organisation. Recruiting staff is an expensive process and is time consuming. It is often the manager who will analyse and also justify the need for human resources. It is significant that the Human Resource department are aware of the recruitment processes and methods needed, and what they entail so that they can be performed in an efficient manner.
Module 2 will look at producing and maintaining personnel records. All businesses need information and data to allow them to operate successfully. Data regarding the businesses human resources is involved in this information. There are a variety of data that a company should keep hold of to comply with the legal requirements, and also to develop and manage such resources, as well as to meet the requirements of the company. Students will be guided through the range of information that is required. Not only this, you will learn how it is used and successfully managed.
The third module will look at staff management and relationships. It is vital that good employer/ employee relationships are maintained to contribute to the success of any organisation. Such relationships can include many parties with many rights. The use of employment policies can assist in managing such groups. It is essential that a business has the relevant employment policies in place which will ensure they are communicated to all staff.
If such procedures are consistently applied, it will assist and support the Human Resources in gaining a better understanding of the employer/ employee relationships. Having a better knowledge of this relationship will reduce the occurrence of disciplinary action. This unit will also investigate the key rights of employees and employers. Not only this, students will examine the policies needed by law to have good work practice.
