Course description

The Emotional Effective Leader

In today’s environment both personal and professional success is dependent on demonstrating competencies associated with Emotional Intelligence including self-awareness, self-regulation, understanding others and building strong relationships. Moreover, we understand the need for professional dealing with the change of working conditions to have a high degree of self-awareness and self-regulation, as well as an understanding of both potential organizational conflict and managing relational conflict under these difficult circumstances.

At the very core of the Emotional Intelligence coaching and training is understanding and assessing quickly the participants desire, ability and capacity for change. If participants are not deeply committed to changing their behavior there can be no growth, no improvement. Emotional Intelligence training provides a proven methodology for affecting change. When delivered by a well-tuned and attentive coach, amazing transformations take place both for the individual as well as the organization.

Assessment tools only provide a benchmark and a tool for opening up discussions as to the opportunities for change, development and growth based on emotional intelligence principles where participants can determine their own course of self-exploration, trail and experimentation and our activities are premised on the greatest success are through real-life trial and error where personal and professional circumstances are the greatest classroom for creating lasting change.

Overview of the EQi-2.0 and EQi-360 assessments.

Our trainer, Jim Hogan, is certified with MHS to deliver and coach clients on the EQ-i2.0 & EQ-I 330 models of emotional intelligence. We have found that these tools have helped our clients create the long-lasting behavior change required to become the leader that they choose to become.

These assessment tools are scientifically normed and validated and grew out of the seminal work on Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman in 1995. Dr. Steven Stein, the founder and CEO of MHS continues to be on the forefront of emotional intelligence with his most recent book: The EQ Leader: Instilling Passion, Creating Shared Goals and Building Meaningful Organizations Through Emotional Intelligence. A complete philosophical toolkit now exists for developing and growing all employees from entry-level to the boardroom using EQ as a core competency.

Within this program and beyond the assessment itself, the power will come from the individual’s commitment to address the gaps that have been identified and addressed. The “Profile Gap Analysis” report will expose the “Blind Spots, Allied Strengths and Reinforced Opportunities” available for the client to create their own emotional intelligence learning platform.
