Course description

Advanced Alternative Dispute Resolution (Level Two) (Public Course)

This multi-day workshop will elevate your ability to resolve disputes in the workplace and give you the tools to be a professional mediator. Now available Live Online.

You will learn how to help people resolve their differences, improve relationships and communication, mediate complex cases, deal with harassment issues, deal with challenging parties, address power imbalances and move positional people towards agreement. The facilitation skills we teach can be used formally or informally in a variety of contexts, whether as a mediator, a manager, a chairperson, or otherwise.

At the in-person sessions, a continental breakfast and catered lunch will be served each day of the workshop. Snacks, coffee and drinks will be available throughout the day.

This workshop is part of the Executive Certificate in Conflict Management.

Upcoming sessions will be Virtual Instructor-Led using ZOOM technology. Using ZOOM, the program will continue to be interactive and engaging involving role plays, exercises, small group discussions and coached mediation role plays. We are limiting the session to 24 participants.

Group HR and Legal Manager, Exeqtech Limited, London, UK

What I liked about the workshop was the opportunity to apply mediation principles and put knowledge into practice in a safe environment with constructive coaching and feedback. Role-plays and Exercises allowed practice, feedback and a greater understanding of how to apply the principles learned.

Director, Office of the Veterans Ombudsman, Ottawa, ON, Canada

The chance to put the theory into practice and get feedback and learn from the performances of others is fantastic - provides a great learning environment and was effectively done through ZOOM. Instructors were very effective in linking experiences to theory before and after the role plays

Logistics, FedEx Express Canada, Oakville, ON, Canada

You have definitely mastered ZOOM and it is absolutely reflective in the success of the session. I would offer to hesitant folks to just give it a shot, it really exceeded my expectation of the experience. The workshop exceeded my expectations from a technical perspective and also from a content perspective.
