Stress Management Training

While some stress is helpful, chronic stress is not good for employees or their companies. At work, it impacts focus and productivity, narrows decision making, and impedes effective communication. To make matters worse, chronic stress leads to a weakened immune system and causes high blood pressure, fatigue, depression, anxiety and even heart disease. This training helps people manage stress so they can be more effective at work, healthier, and avoid burnout.

The training targets developing two skills, (1) noticing the moment that we are stressed and, (2) effectively managing stress in that moment. Because the training is all about behavior change, the training is best done live, in groups, and over a length of time. It is light on content and heavy on practical exercises and support to help participants create new habits.

Training content

Learn how stress affects our health, productivity, and relationships, and start exploring how to use different exercises to mitigate it's effects through a number of modules:

  • NOTICE STRESS: build our awareness of how stress presents itself to increase our likelihood of noticing it
  • MANAGE STRESS: these exercises help participants manage stress once they notice it in the moment
  • CHANGE OUTLOOK: learn how to cultivate happiness and avoid the negativity bias FORM HABITS: learn how to incorporate exercises into our day at work and home to reduce stress
  • CONNECTING WITH OTHERS: notice how interacting with others helps or hurts our underlying stress levels, and learn how to interact with others more effectively Intention: learn how to orient our brain towards achieving our goals
