Course description
Production control is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating and monitoring aircraft and equipment maintenance workload. This course introduces the concepts, tasks and concerns associated with coordinating all work centers, equipment and facilities involved in the organization's production efforts. The course can be taught as an introduction/overview to production control or tailored to deep dive on any particular topic(s). Applicable to line maintenance, aircraft overhaul and repair (depot), component repair and overhaul.

- Production control manning
- Special skills, level of seniority, manpower workload requirements, etc.
- Direct support personnel – i.e., Logs and records, database administrators
- Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance plans
- Routine production meetings – frequency and attendance
- Work execution and monitoring
- Priorities, sequencing, monitoring, inspection and sign-off
- Work order documentation
- Technical directive (TCTO) compliance and logs and record entries
- Work requests
- Required assistance outside of immediate organization – back shop support
- Material management
- Supply chain, consumables, repairs
- Hazard and safety recognition and compliance (i.e., special work or open fuel cell)
- Aircraft receipt and transfer requirements
- Safe for flight certification
- Aircraft functional check flights
