High Voltage Electrical Safety for Power GTD - 29 CFR 1910.269 - On-site Training
Available in both virtual and in-person, instructor-led formats, the foremost purpose of this High Voltage Electrical Safety for Power GTD training seminar is to keep employees safe while working on or around high voltage power generation, transmission and distribution systems and equipment. In this seminar, students will learn how to work safely and efficiently around high voltage electricity. OSHA Requirement 29 CFR 1910.269 covers the operation and maintenance of electric power generation, control, transformation, transmission, and distribution lines and equipment. This seminar will outline all of the requirements in this OSHA ruling and how it applies to all electric power GTD operations. This High Voltage Electrical Safety Training seminar, while perfect for any student who works around electric power GTD installations, is specifically designed for personnel working on or around high voltage electrical lines, equipment or around substations, underground electrical installations or power generators.

Training content
Day One
Day One reviews the relevant OSHA standard and examines electrical safety in the workplace. Students will learn the skills and techniques necessary to determine the nominal voltage of exposed live parts, the minimum approach distances corresponding to the voltages to which the qualified employee will be exposed, and the proper use of the special precautionary techniques, personal protective equipment (PPE), insulating and shielding materials, and insulated tools for working on or near exposed energized parts of electric equipment.

Course delivery details
If in-person high voltage training is not an option, live virtual training provides an alternative. High voltage training online delivers the same concepts and processes taught in a live classroom through face-to-face video instruction. Employees are taught by experienced online instructors, with instruction supported and reinforced through virtual classroom interaction, training exercises, and live group discussions. Pop quizzes allow instructors to gauge each employee's understanding of high voltage electric concepts before moving on to the next portion of the class.
To participate in virtual high voltage training, employees need access to a computer, microphone, webcam, and internet connection. Virtual training instructors meet the same strict criteria as TPC Training offsite instructors and possess years of education experience coupled with practical industry application of high voltage electric concepts. For companies concerned with employee health, virtual training is an excellent way to ensure social distancing during high voltage training.
