Course description
Multimeter Operation, Application, and Troubleshooting - 1 Day - On-site Training
This virtual, instructor-led Electrical Multimeter Operation, Application, and Troubleshooting course is perfect for new users and veteran journeymen alike. With an emphasis on safety, the course covers multimeter basics such as category ratings, understanding the display, dangers of using the wrong meter, how to verify an electrically safe working condition, and common mistakes that result in injury. Attendees will learn how to properly check for voltage, current and resistance and then apply those measurements to effectively troubleshoot electrical components and systems. Additional functionality found on many meters, including Hold; Min/Max; Ranging; Low Z; 4-20 mA output, and temperature will be discussed to allow attendees to be able to utilize their multimeter to the fullest. Other test instruments are discussed as well, such as analog meters, voltage testers, megohmmeter, and the latest advances. Throughout the class, students will participate in hands-on interactive simulations to understand not only how to safely use a multimeter, but how to interpret the measurements and use them to troubleshoot and repair equipment quickly and efficiently
