Course description
TrainSMART's virtual instructor-led workshop "Creative Problem-Solving" is a three-part session that is designed to help participants develop and improve their problem-solving skills in the virtual workplace. This workshop focuses on providing participants with the skills and techniques needed to approach problems in a creative and innovative manner.
Participants will learn how to define creativity as a sequential process, identify the characteristics of each step of the creative thinking process, and assess their own personal creative preferences. The workshop will also help participants gain clarity on how to get the best from themselves and others throughout the creative process, and reflect on their own personal creative skill development.
The goal of the workshop is to help participants develop the skills and knowledge they need to effectively facilitate creative problem-solving, uncover powerful insights, and solve problems in less time.

- Complete the FourSight® Innovative Thinking assessment (prework)
- Create a shared understanding of what true creativity is
- Overview of the four steps in the creative thinking process
- Create prototypes to illustrate the behaviors/characteristics of each preference
- Review assessment results to better understand oneself
- Compare preferences with another person to better understand how you might leverage one another
- Examine various team profiles – their strengths and struggles based on FourSight® preferences
- Build a personal action plan to gain skill in a part of the process you spend less time in
