Course description
Speaking with Confidence & Clarity
Fundamental skills for the nervous or novice presenter
Studies show that fear of public speaking affects up to 75% of the population. The implications of this in the business world can be significant. It also has far-reaching effects on career advancement opportunities for those who suffer from nervousness. While some individuals experience mild discomfort that goes away after a few minutes, others have what they call an out-of-body experience. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. Turpin can help.
Speaking with Confidence & Clarity is a workshop designed to help nervous and novice employees overcome their fear of public speaking, gain self-awareness, and get their presentations started on the right foot. It makes a great addition to corporate onboarding and emerging leaders’ programs.
Throughout the class, participants apply the principles of The Orderly Conversation® to their own real-life presentations, which may be conducted in person, virtually, or in a hybrid environment. Training involves video-recorded exercises and private, instructor-led video review. This process helps participants identify and develop the skills they need to succeed.
Speaking with Confidence & Clarity includes access to eCoach – our program for pre-work and post-workshop performance support. Participants receive reusable job aids and reference materials to help them apply what they learn in class to the situations they face outside of it.
All Turpin Workshops are highly customized to your organization’s and employees’ specific goals and challenges and can be delivered on-site or virtually.

Based on 14 reviews.I think that the most valuable part of the program is understanding areas where you are strongest and weakest. This was much better than I anticipated. It was a good balance of instruction and participation.
The instructor is the most valuable part of the workshop. Dale shared knowledge and insight that will help me be a better benefit to Northwestern.
